DAVID COOK HIDDEN TRACK

NOTE: after A Daily AntheM there is silence but the track is 15 minutes long. Around 12 minutes in you can find this hidden track, Kiss on the Neck, written by Cook and Neal Tiemann. Here are the lyrics. Put on a scent with some attitude
Put on a dress with some bite
Make up your skin like your favorite star
You’re going out tonight
When everyone’s under the gun
Just smile and hum along
So over it just a well-trained pack
The same old song

I can say
You were lost when you walked into the room
Such an old cliché
Hollywood’s full of girls like you
With your backbone stuck inside your purse
Your fairy tale couldn’t get much worse
You’re a broken bird and we all know
We can win you over,
With just a kiss on the neck

You’re blowing up like a hand grenade
Can’t keep your foot on the brake
You’re grinning because you got it made
Such a colossal fake

When everyone’s a smoking gun
Just smile and hum along
You’ll never win with a back to a grave
You got it all wrong

I can say
You were lost when you walked into the room
Such an old cliché
Hollywood’s full of girls like you
With your backbone stuck inside your purse
Your fairy tale couldn’t get much worse
You’re a broken bird and we all know
We can win you over,
With just a kiss on the neck (kiss on the neck)
Oooh

You’re the sweetest thing I’ve seen
To think that you were meant for me
And I got just one thing to say,
With just a kiss on the neck

You can say
I was lost when I walked into the room
Such an old cliché
I can never get a girl like you
With my backbone stuck inside your purse
This fairy tale couldn’t get much worse
I’m a broken man and you all know
You can win me over,
With just a kiss on the neck
K-k-k-kiss on the neck

people

David Cook appears in the latest issue of People Magazine. The cover story is about actor Michael J. Fox and his life with Parkinson’s disease, for those who want to read it.  In the Cook segment, the American Idol winner talks about his relationship with former American Idol contestant Kim Caldwell (season two) as well as other things that are going on in his life. The article, or should I say interview is made up of questions sent in by reader that Cook sat down to answer before going on his Thanksgiving Weekend mini- break from the spotlight which he is currently spending in Blue Springs Mo.

Cookie for Christmas

IF there is one thing that I love more than David Cook’s music is Disney. I am a Disney baby and will always be. I’ve been to Disney World almost every other year, and have gone every year for the last three years as a post- holidays visit. I’ve even worked for the Disney Company for a summer. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that my two favorite things were going to be together for Christmas.

According to the Disney email I received today:

“For 25 years, children of all ages have unwrapped the magic of Disney on Christmas day on ABC. This year the Emmy Award-winning “Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade” celebrates its silver anniversary with a two-hour television extravaganza…. “American Idol” winner David Cook will put his rocker spin on a holiday classic.”

The greatest American Idol commercial ever

For the first time, Fox is using a former “American Idol” to promote its new season. Reigning “Idol” David Cook has filmed a promotional spot that begins airing this week.

I just saw it and it’s visually stunning and is a perfect promo for both Cook and the show.

The ad begins with the singer about to go on-stage to perform his new single, “Light On.” After rewinding through images of his current life—limos, parties, paparazzi—Mr. Cook is seen lying in bed, dreaming about how his “Idol” voyage began with clips from Cook’s appearances on the show, starting with  judge Paula Abdul asking him, “Are you the next ‘American Idol’?” and ending with Ryan Seacrest announcing his win.

ellen

So the Ellen Show said that David Cook was going to be on tomorrow’s episode of the program. They said that weeks ago and Cook has since (according to fan word of mouth not official confirmation) taped the episode but now the episode has been bumped. Word has it that it might air in the beginning of December, though I suppose they could air it earlier next week.  I guess just keep an eye out for his appearance, or tape every episode on to your DVR or Tivo if you have them and if I hear first I will relay the message to you.

thanksgiving cook style

So with Thanksgiving (the biggest food fest in America) occurring this week, it begs the question, does David Cook, cook? Well according to his mother, Beth Foraker, the name does not ring true. David, and for that matter his little brother Andrew, does not cook. However, he does enjoy the eating and is apparently a big helper in setting up the house for festivities and setting the table.

If you want to know more about the Cook (and Foraker) family’s Turkey Day plans, Fox 4 in Kansas City has posted its interview with Mrs. Foraker. Please follow the link below:

want more cookie

So you’re listening to David Cook’s debut Album. You’ve watched him and his band on Walmart Soundcheck, as well as all of the videos of his two amazing performances at the Hard Rock Café on Youtube. You’ve even managed to see his performances on The Tonight Show, Regis and Kelly, and Good Morning America and you still want more. Sure there is an appearance on Ellen coming early next week and the America Music Awards on Sunday but you want more now. If that’s possible, I have the cure for you. Along with everything else he’s been up to, Cook and Co. have done a mini concert on AOL.

ET lies

Entertainment Tonight not the little alien for the record.

So anyway, For the third or fourth time since he’s won American Idol the celebrity news show advertised having David Cook on an episode. And tonight, just like the other times, Cook was bumped. It’s ridiculous that they keep doing this to him and his fans. His segments are always pre taped  and are the later posted on the website but don’t end up on the show.

It’s not like they bumped him for breaking news and if they think that he’s not good enough to air then advertise him as a web exclusive.

BAR-BA-SOL

THIS IS THE SONG THAT COOK AND CO. ROCK THE HARDEST:

When I woke up I could see the daylight had already passed me
It was such a fight to fade away asleep
It’s a fugue
Come on
Found to chase down the dawn
Well I fell every night as it turns into light with my eyes just shut tight

Sailing all alone
I thought I made it home
But I threw it all away
Oh where I’ve been
Sold and spun again
All before me like a dream
Falling in between
I feel sick, I feel nervous
I know just what I did to deserve this
Though I know it’s not a dream

Keeping quiet
Laying low
Holding on to what I don’t want to know
Till the daylight turns to ash and blows away
Missing keys
Bloody nose
Consequences of what I chose
Keep all eyes on me
Don’t want my memory
All comes so deafening

Sailing all alone
I thought I made it home
But I threw it all away
Oh where I’ve been
Sold and spun again
All before me like a dream
Falling in between
I feel sick, I feel nervous
I know just what I did to deserve this
Though I know it’s not a dream

Oh where I’ve been
Sold and spun a…

Oh where I’ve been
Sold and spun again
All before me like a dream
Falling in between
I feel sick, I feel nervous
I know just what I did to deserve this
Though I know it’s not a dream

Oh where I’ve been
Sold and spun again
All before me like a dream
Falling in between
I feel sick, I feel nervous
I know just what I did to deserve this
Though I know it’s not a dream
