David’s Mom

c4da3d340db14888aa65f4d2fcd18f8d-c4da3d340db14888aa65f4d2fcd18f8d-2.jpgSo for the last few weeks, David Cook’s mother, Beth Foraker, has been calling in to a Kansas City based web/ radio show. Every Friday she answers three questions sent in my Cook fans. Yesterdays questions were:

“Can you tell us about your favorite Mother’s Day memory, or most memorable Mother’s Day gift? When and what?”

“What changes have you noticed in David between the time he auditioned for American Idol and now? (Although he is the same person…it has to have affected his outlook on life now that he is realizing his dream.)”

“Has she had a chance to meet her grand-puppy, Dublin, yet?”

To hear her answers go here: http://www.supload.com/listen?s=GGcucl

And for next week’s interview tune into http://www.kcradio.com/index2.php

Kyle Peek

If anyone is interested in seeing Drummer Kyle Peek perform without David Cook and the band and you are in the California area, here’s your chance. On February 03, 2009 Peek (who can also play guitar) will be performing at Di’Piazzas Lava Lounge (address is 5205 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, California 90638.) the show only cost $8.

As Peek said on Myspace, “My little brother and I are doing an acoustic performance a couple days before I leave for tour. And it so happens to have landed on my birthday. I think those are way more than enough reasons to show up…haha.”

If you go and would like to share your experience and or pictures please drop me a comment. J

Boundaries

Today it came to light that several pictures of David Cook, members of his band, and their friends and family members that had circled the internet were actually the property of Andy Skib’s Girlfriend Jennie. The pictures had been copied off of her MySpace or Facebook account. The worst part was that she had specifically labeled the album, “Please Don’t Steal These Pictures.”

Some might say that since she posted them on a social network site that she deserves this. I’d like to point out that her pictures are viewable only if she has approved you as a friend and therefore there is a silent trust fans are agreeing to by requesting her.

If these kinds of things keep happening the band will not be as friendly and open as they currently are.

David Cook’s going to Disney World (again)

On February 12, Walt Disney World Resort will be hosting the world premiere of their newest attraction, “The American Idol Experience” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formally Disney’s MGM Studios for those who knew the park before the renaming last January.) The ride allows Disney guests to experience the action of an actual American Idol journey first hand.

To commemorate the occasion, reigning Idol David Cook will perform live from the attraction that morning on GOOD MORNING AMERICA (which airs weekdays on ABC). Then that night Cook will headline a special guest performance during the night’s events.

I’ll keep you updated if and/ or when more information becomes available.

Cookie Crumbs

Cookie Crumbs

David Cook’s first single, “The Time of My Life” (which recently went platinum) has now become” the biggest single debut and the highest selling coronation single in the history of American Idol. That is huge when you consider that Cook is the 34th American Idol contestant to appear on the Billboard charts.

If that isn’t good enough news, David’s second single, “Light On,” has now become a Gold Record single (which means that the song has now sold more than 500,000 digital downloads).

On a not album related topic, David and his band have safely returned from their trip in the Middle East.

worth 1000 words

Today is going to be mostly about pictures. There has been a bunch surfacing from the USO tour David Cook is currently performing in the Middle East

Apparently, at least one of the shows was acoustic and didn’t include bassist Joey Clement and drummer Kyle Peek

(Andy Skib)

(David)

(Neal Tiemann)

But the whole band was together at times as well

Interesting fact, Joey is playing with a broken elbow that he apparent got from playing basketball with the troops. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Also, it seems Mr. Sixx has been having some fun while the band was away:

Sales numbers

p1000414.jpgCould a platinum record be far off?

The premiere of American Idol did wonders David Cook, David Cook jumped back into the Top 10 sales, as 31,000 people bought the album This is 58 percent more than the previous week which was 19,000. Cook did even better on the digital side, with a whopping 140 percent increase, going from nearly 3,000 to 7,000.

At this rate, he’ll pass 100,000 digital-album sales next week — he’s at 892,000 overall. (Only seven albums on the 50-spot Current Digital Albums chart saw sales increases last week. David had the biggest percentage increase of any of them.)

Word from the Middle East

So I had figured that there would be no reports about the David Cook and Band trip to entertain our troops but there is one tid bit because there is a Cook fan with a husband in the services.

I feel the most important thing that came through the story was that Cookie said, “What you guys do every day is a lot more important than any of this s*** we do up here. We are so honored to be here and we thank you so much for having us here to perform for you.”

For the entire story from this lovely woman and her brave husband follow this link: http://www.davidcookofficial.com/blog/david-cook-he-makes-you-ask-husband-strangest-things
